About Catherine Standiford
Catherine has worked in cancer care and exercise for more than 25 years. Her passion is helping patients regain a sense of control during and after cancer treatment, with a focus on improving strength, function, and overall quality of life.
Her connection to cancer care is deeply personal. Catherine’s mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor, and several other members of her family have also faced breast cancer. Those experiences helped shape her commitment to working with patients with cancer and ultimately guided her career.
Catherine is a Cancer Exercise Specialist and has participated in numerous research studies focused on cancer and exercise. She also serves on the Board of the American Cancer Society and as the State Lead Ambassador for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, where she advocates for cancer-related policies and improved outcomes for patients.
Her approach to care is centered on meeting patients where they are. Because treatment side effects and energy levels can change from day to day, Catherine focuses on manageable goals and individualized care that support survivorship. She believes in listening closely, sharing practical knowledge, and creating an environment where patients feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged.
Outside of work, Catherine enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, two sons, two dogs, and her large extended family. She has lived in Utah for most of her life and is proud to call it home. A former college basketball and volleyball player, she has always valued movement, teamwork, and connection.
Catherine is excited to be part of Utah Cancer Specialists and to support patients within an organization she has trusted personally through her own family’s cancer care.
