About Dr. Hunter
Dr. Lindsay Hunter is a medical oncologist whose approach to cancer care is rooted in compassion, respect, and meaningful relationships with patients and their families.
After college, Dr. Hunter worked with the National Institutes of Health conducting pediatric research. That experience helped solidify her decision to pursue medicine, and she returned home to Utah for medical school. She completed her residency at the University of Utah, followed by her fellowship at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Dr. Hunter was drawn to oncology by the patients themselves and the opportunity to care for people throughout some of the most challenging times in their lives. Her decision was also deeply personal. After losing her father to colon cancer, she knew she wanted a career where she could build lasting relationships with patients and families while helping them navigate the complexities of cancer.
Her approach begins with listening. Dr. Hunter takes time to understand each patient’s concerns, values, and individual needs, recognizing that there is much more to a person than their diagnosis. She believes clear communication and shared decision-making are essential to helping patients feel comfortable asking questions and confident in their care. Ultimately, Dr. Hunter wants each patient to feel known, respected, and supported throughout their cancer journey.
A Utah native, Dr. Hunter grew up surrounded by a large extended family and is grateful to continue calling Utah home. Outside of medicine, she enjoys gardening, painting, hiking, and cooking.
