Nitin B. Chandramouli, MD, FACP

About Dr. Chandramouli

Dr. Nitin Chandramouli has been caring for patients at Utah Cancer Specialists since 2002. Originally from Iowa, he attended Tufts University in Boston for his undergraduate education before returning to the University of Iowa for medical school and his Internal Medicine residency. Drawn to the Mountain West, he completed his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Huntsman Cancer Institute and the University of Utah.

During residency, Dr. Chandramouli recognized that hematology and oncology were entering an exciting period of new treatments and rapidly advancing technology. That progress drew him to the specialty and continues to make the field meaningful to him today. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).

Dr. Chandramouli believes that good care starts with listening. He makes an effort to learn about each patient beyond their diagnosis, including their interests, family, and life outside of the clinic. Building that personal connection helps him better understand what matters to each patient and provide care that reflects their individual needs and priorities.

His connection to the region is also personal. His wife was born and raised in southeast Idaho, and the opportunity to build their life in the Mountain West was an important part of making Utah home.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Chandramouli enjoys spending time with his immediate and extended family. He previously enjoyed deer and elk hunting on horseback and now spends more of his free time golfing and shooting.
