About Dr. Stephenson
Dr. William Stephenson brings more than two decades of experience in hematology and oncology, including 23 years at a large tertiary referral center in downtown Kansas City. He has a particular interest in benign hematology and values the opportunity his specialty provides to develop meaningful relationships with patients while focusing deeply on complex medical conditions.
At the center of Dr. Stephenson’s approach is education. He believes patients and their families should fully understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and what those choices may mean for their lives. He recognizes that the best answer for most patients is not necessarily the best answer for the individual sitting in front of him. By taking the time to explain options and understand each patient’s priorities, he helps patients make informed decisions that are right for them.
Dr. Stephenson appreciates working with colleagues who share his commitment to patient education and thoughtful, individualized care. He moved to Utah in 2018 to be closer to family and is now partially retired. He continues to care for patients while also providing coverage for colleagues when they are away from the office.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Stephenson has a strong interest in musical composition and theory.
