Is lung cancer only caused by smoking?
No. While smoking is the leading risk factor, approximately 20% of lung cancer cases occur in people who have never smoked. Radon exposure, secondhand smoke, occupational chemicals, and genetic factors also play a role.
What is targeted therapy?
Targeted therapy uses drugs designed to attack specific genetic mutations in cancer cells. Molecular testing of your tumor identifies which mutations are present, allowing us to match you with FDA-approved targeted drugs or clinical trials.
Do you offer lung cancer screening?
Yes. We follow USPSTF guidelines recommending annual low-dose CT screening for adults aged 50-80 with a 20 pack-year smoking history. Talk to your primary care doctor or call us for a referral.
